Of course eventually there will be peace no one is arguing that - But at what price? We have armed the Sunni insurgents who have been killing our troops and we are paying them not to shoot us. We have armed the Iraqi army who primarily consist of Shia, some Kurds, and a few Sunni. The Kurds are making their own oil deals against the wishes of the Shia. The Turks are getting satellite info from us to attack the Kurds. We have emboldened Iran who has stronger ties to the real powers in Iraq than we do. We're spending our blood and treasure and the only freaking reason that the surge is working from a military perspective is that the al sadr brigade has invoked a cease fire and during that time has strengthened themselves to such a degree that they are as strong as the Iraqi military.

Now consider that the surge was to enable the Iraqi's to get some political security to actually engage in dialogue and move forward with political reconciliation. To that end it has been a miserable failure. The Iraqi parliament is close to dissolving and now of the key benchmarks regarding oil disposition has still not been resolved.

You seem to think that displacing 3 million Iraqi’s into other countries is some accomplishment to be proud of and that having four million Iraqi’s displaced within Iraq is also ok. Well consider that would equate to about 84 million Americans displaced. In most instances what has happened to Iraqi’s is nothing short of ethnic cleansing. Neighborhoods once peaceful before our invasion have been cleansed and families have been destroyed. One should be ashamed by our countries actions and total incompetence in invading and after prosecuting this injustice. That you put forth articles which ignore the above says more about your willingness to embrace propaganda than look at the real human tragedy unfolding. Naturally I don’t expect you to actually respond in your own words as I don’t believe you and people who think like you (supporters of the current POTUS) actually have the mental capacity to put forth a cogent argument in your own words.
