Two very good questions...one's which will go unanswered because they do not fit the template of the agenda.

I was one enthusiastic N.G. reader and subscriber since the '50's..We even still have our collection of pre WWII issues. I canceled the sub for good in 1996. I switched to Scientific American, the History Channel, and Discovery Channel. N.G. lost much of it's appeal when the format changed..I've never looked back.

Global Warming: As I have said, global warming is a natural process that the Earth has gone through before. However, never to the high temperatures of today, and never as close once again to the historic levels of some 30 million years ago before the dinosaurs appeared, known as the Carboniferous Period. This period too resulted in an Ice Age; but we cannot deny the higher temps' higher CO2’s Greenland’s rapid melting at levels even the scientist did not suspect could be rapid, and you will not be able to deny the 20-foot rise in sea-level that will come if things keep going as they are. We must use common sense.

Even if it is not man made, or as I suspect a natural cycle highly influenced by man, it's still true. As the greenhouse effects the earth, causing CO2 to remain in our environment, causing and allowing water vapors to grab a hold of more pollutants and CO2 along with other gasses such sulfur oxide and nitrous oxide, the climate shifts causing these colder temps' elsewhere, it's all part of global warming. Yes Global warming is real, yes man has contributed to it as land, fossil, and ice drillings have proved.

While we all argue over this and that, the planet is changing, it matters not who or what caused it, we need to all we can to help Mother Earth, and at the same time free ourselves from the evils of the oil industry and it's contributing countries influences. We need to stop bickering over small tidbits of information taken out context; it's a long complicated problem with many factors and chain reactions. There is enough proof, I was disbeliever before four or five classes on the matter, and in these classes I discovered and soon spouted in each following class that it matters not whose fault it is, it simply is!

Global warming is real, we do not know the facts on exactly what caused it, nor what all we can do, or what all is going to happen exactly; but less consumption of oil and it’s many products can only help the earth and our dependence on a substance controlled by our enemies. We should not be fighting over small bits of information and ignoring the facts that cannot be denied, we are warmer than ever before in our history, we our major polluters, we are depending upon other nations for fossil fuels, which is crippling our economy and independence in the world market.

Natural cycle or man made, proved or just a guess, cleaner is better and freer, that's the bottom line.

Nothing Personal, JMHO,
