Zeev - Asia is only down about 1%. Taiwan has its own particular set of problems at the moment, which are entirely political.

ZH - let me get this straight...we are about to see a "flush" which I asume means a mini collapse and I am suuposed to get rid of my bearish outlook!!!

OK if I've got this rightthen I need to find the word that describes something much worse than a "bearish outlook". What animal describes that? A lemmingish outlook or a penguin falling over the cliff outlook <gg>

OK but the economy is presumably still in good shape in fact in very good shape. I don't suppose that all the great earnings we are about to see are going to be sold?

Zeev, I believe Taiwan is unique in that they were heavily pricing in a new cross-straight friendly KMT administration. They had lots of ideas for speeding cooperation with the mainland. The market there is now correcting to reflect the re-election of the current administration. Chinese love to gamble, and the assasination attempt kind of changed the odds on that bet.
