Zeev, could the overhang of terrorism ruin your spring to summer rally leading to the continuation of the secular bear market ? It seems that an increase in fuel costs will offset a portion of the one time tax refunds.

I'm considering calling it a year unless we have a severe correction in one of my industry groups. The institutional rotation has been too mild for me. I might have to wait for the panic mode maybe next year.

P.S. - Terrorists were beating up on Saudi Arabia and Turkey on a routine basis in prior years. I recently heard on a news program that Spain might only be the beginning.

I seemed to recall 0.1% GDP for every $1, but that seemed too low, and that's why I inquired. I thought you had a better handle on the actual number.

The cost to consumers is more than just gasoline. Chemicals, power, and plastics are also big factors. Anyway, I was quite surprised when I looked at that WTIC chart tonight, so I had to delve a bit further into the possible ramifications.

inflation adjusted, a gallon price of gasoline is relatively cheap compared to 1980 prices per gallon adjusted for inflation over that period.
I think it would be 2.30 a gallon or approx.
My point being that gas prices are really not that high relative to inflation adjusted increases.
