Well i don't know whar you are basing that on since we have barely have had any data on january

q4 will be close to 2 per cent imo

for january we have had really good jobless claims, which should make for a good payrolls report

besides that consumer confidence improved dramatically

so think it is far to only to conclude anything

but data sure doesn't support any "panic" move by the fed

The question is what growth will be on Q3 and Q4 of 2008. Cause Q1 is already in the negative column as you say and current prices to factor that is. And Q2 could improve over Q1 but should still stay negative. So the question is what will Q3 be... is this going to be a 2 quarter recession or something larger?
