Nancy, you underestimate how sadistic those MM's can be at expiration time. I duly recall May 6 and 7 2002 as well as March 2002. Major ramps for Max Pain in a matter of days off deep oversold levels. The downtrend resumed after expiration.
Heck, what about October 2002 and October 2000? Probably the best was Feb. 2001, a 1-day expiration day wonder.
