It might be that more Republicans are attending the meetings as Democrats... We have more "recovering" Republicans around here than I can count... I know of not one Republican who is pleased with what is going on in the fedl gov today. This will translate into Democratic votes in the primary and general elections...

I'm not talking about the caucuses - the press has been reporting for a while that there has been larger turnouts to see/hear the Dem candidates than for Repub candidates. When it comes to the actual caucus for each party (Jan 3rd), I don't know what controls there are...if any.
Although Iowa is a very small state, I find like the fact that they still have "retail politics" - the people get to see the candidates, not just get their messages via TV ads/brochures.

If you listen to FOX you'd think the Repubs will do very well in Nov, especially if FOX' much-hated HRC leads the Dem ticket...then, if you listen to more middle-of-the road commentators they feel the Repubs are in disarray and that's why someone the likes of a Bishop Huckabee is able to do so well.
Interestingly enough, the Richmond (VA) Times-Dispatch newspaper has an article on their front page today about how divided the conserv wing of the Repub party is...some find religion most important, some find conservative spending most important, and some find conservative social issues most important. Rarely, if ever, is there anything less than flattering about the Repub party in ANY Richmond publication.
