Based on the limited set of benchmarks I have seen, Banias gives Athlon 64 a decent run up in performance. Dothan has double the cache, so I would assume it has potential to offer similar IPC to Athlon 64, at least in 32-bit apps, which will be the overwhelming majority for laptop users over the next couple years.
