Just wanted to enter this as a matter of record. I noted this snippet from the 2002 Annual Report (page 4):

"Since frequency cannot be solely relied upon as a measure of system performance, we quantify our overall performance in terms of model numbers to position our products against comparable Intel products designated only by their clock speed."
