Put this on the wrong thread last nite by mistake.
I am not concerned(job report), well a little. My 120 person firm got the go-ahead to hire thirty folks starting on 1/1 based on very optimistic sales forecast. No one hired yet. The sales pipeline is filling up. If we dont hire soon we will not be able to meet demand. The hesitancy to hire probably has a brother out there in failure to spend on infrastructure fast enough. Unless business is willing to commit hari kari, they will be forced to start spending now. ONly the appetizer has been served--the main course yet to come unless of course it spoils before served. This is all about as dumb as when after it was clear that the bust had come some firms kept ordering and hiring. This is just a little anecddotal evidence. I hope it helps. Mike
PS i am told that temp hiring is thru the roof and some of the hesitancy for full time hiring is health care premiums picked up by employer.
