Not to rain on your parade and good luck with it anyway...
As I said before, I can't imagine ever wanting to use that feature - mainly because I'm open to IHub whenever I'm on the computer - which is just about all the time - meaning I'm getting notified anyway... and because the last thing in the world I want is more email - especially when all it does is duplicate what I already know.
Of course, if I was off the computer, the email notification wouldn't do any good anyway. So, the only people that benefit would be those who are on the computer with email open, but not IHub being open. I suppose that probably includes some people. But, the question it brings up to me is this.
I would presume the feature is designed to get people to log onto IHub that might not otherwise be on it. However, I wonder if it would have a reverse effect - people might not bother logging on or staying on in order to not miss a PM when otherwise they would check IHub more regularly.
I don't care either way as it's apparent that either my computer or my ISP is blocking them (I've never gotten any). But, I just wonder whether or not the feature will be of any value to IHub (irrespective of whether it is of seeming value to the individual user).
It may never be known if it is of value to IHub or not, but I will predict that at LEAST 80% of the top couple hundred posters will turn it off unless they aren't receiving them anyway. I would almost bet that 99% of the top couple hundred posters will turn it off because I can't imagine why anyone would constantly want to be notified by email that they have a message when they were just notified by IHub that they had a message. And, even if they think it is cool today, I bet they'll soon get tired of it.
Of course, that's just my opinion.
