The reason is they want to see how many people actually care or actually change their passwords. Considering the small number of subscribers they could easily have extracted the old ones and re-loaded them. What do they use for a database, SQL Server?

What are your theories asus? Since I am not an IT guy, I have no idea why passwords are being changed.....I have never experienced a request like this from any other online company.

Only a few possible scenarios I can think of:

1. They just implemented new code to allow users to change passwords and want to test it.

2. They had a security breach.

3. A former pissed off employee might have a list of the passwords.
