#303712 RE: IxCimi #303688

Hey doublespeak. Hello. You said the Democrats. I said not enough votes. We don't have the vote of Joe Lieberman or the other [word that must not be spoken]s. It would have been defeated and spun as partisanship... (y'know... by the "liberal" press) as if the scum in the Whitehouse didn't do anything at all.

Politics means you have a point of view and the other guy maybe has another one and you try to work that out.. It's the fine art of pleasing nobody.

Was Ron Paul pushing for impeachment? I may have missed it.

Look. The dems don't play the kind of hardball the 'pugs do. It's sad but true, they should have gone for the throat, but they felt they had a slight margin, not a mandate (not that that would have stopped the 'pugs) and they didn't feel they could accomplish anything but to stage a circus. Remember a few years back when the Dems threatened to filibuster and the Pugs threatened to do away with the filibuster rule? (the "nuclear option" they called it) I never understood that, but I get disgusted with the Dems for not playing their own trumps like that. Maybe it's because they just aren't thugs and the other guys are, but they better toughen up or they're going to get run over time and again.

Was Ron Paul pushing for impeachment? I may have missed it.

Asked if the Democrats would use gains in the mid-term elections to set in motion impeachment proceedings against George W. Bush, Paul responded,

"I predict that would happen."

"I think he (Bush) has numerous things that the Democrats if they get a chance, not only will they be after him for that but it will be payback for the Clinton impeachment."

He argues for it, but does he call for it?

Answer that.
