Greetings to you, Patricia.
I'm so envious! Not that I haven't been riding. I've probably done about 300 miles so far this year. No, the weather hasn't been that good. I'm just that hard-core and stupid. I'm still feeling the effects of a ride 2 weeks ago where it was warm enough but there was still frozen snow on the ground. Dropped the bike two times trying to get up the driveway from the workshop. The drops didn't hurt me or the bike. Picking it back up hurt me plenty. What a behemoth!
I'll be checking into the BMW equivalent later in the year and considering trading in the Wing on it. For my needs (general riding, including hauling it in the car trailer to the track as my local ride), I don't need 800 lbs of bike and as impressive as the engine is, I'd gladly give up half of it in return for some other features the Beemer has. The power of this thing goes to the other side of "obscene" (and this is a racer talking). Although the high-school kids are impressed with the way I can just twist the throttle in 2nd gear and the rear tire lights right up.
My wife and I were just saying the other day that we don't know how many more KC winters we want to deal with. She says the word "Arizona" more and more frequently. I've been saying it for years. I love the racetracks I'm close to (which would be a big factor in a decision to move), but as long as I'm pretty close to one very good racetrack, I'd give up easy access to "my" tracks for a much longer riding season.
