Nice post youhavenoidea, but there are a lot of things that you left out. No Burt didn't go to college, not everyone has that desire. If you were to take a pole today from the major treasure groups in the world. I am sure that Kim Fisher( Mel's son) and the people at Odyessy Marine would tell you that Burt Webber has the equivalent of a P.H.D. in Treasure Salvage.
The group that found the Central America and wrote the book " Ship of Gold", said, that Burt almost found the Central America before they did. Burt was on a direct course with electronic equipment for the Central America, when the other treasure hunting group put their boat in the path of Burt's ship and he had to alter his course. They had nothing but acclaim for Burt in their book Ship of Gold.
Mel Fisher had the same thing to say about Burt Webber, Burt was doing a magnetometor survey in the same general area that the Atocha was found.
Right now Burt has teamed up with Art McKee's family as a consultant to salvage a wreck in the caribbean.
Burt also has a permit for a valuable wreck in the Dominican Republic. I think it is nice that you posted about his earlier years struggling to get where he is today. It is a hard road to travel and he is one of the Premier Treasure Hunters Today.
