Well, in my case - it's always been how you sell it. Whether it's picking the right time near the top of the run or bailing quickly enough when the position goes against you, to me, the timing of your sell is far more important than the timing of your buy. If you are disciplined, you can buy any stock any time any day, and be assured of at worst, a small loss, 99 % of the time.
If only I could acquire the discipline I need in this area - I'm so good in other areas, but not when it comes to this game. Getting better, but Jesus what an expensive and time consuming process.
This board has helped a great deal, but I'm my own worst enemy. Like Hawk, my trading account has gotten limited to the point where it's hard to apply a new-found skill since frictional costs have increased with decreasing portfolio balance. A major reason behind my interest in IB and MB trading. Can't wait to get away from ameritrade and muriel siebert. Just want to make sure I'm going to a reliable substitute that's also inexpensive.
