I understand what you mean about no system being perfect. I think being able to see the big picture and not panic in the short run is the best trait. I am still working on it.
Take Stockscouter on msn. It has good long term live results. Markman was quoted as saying that he doesn't mind giving it away because he know most people won't be able to follow it. Once it hits short term trouble, many people bail out.
