Yep, too late to just end the war. Although that might be the only way out at this point. The current crop of politicians are too wobbolly (sp) to have any convictions to do anything about it though. We are only creating more damage daily to America, Iraq and the world. There is no plan in place resolve this manufactured out of whole cloth conflict.
Besides if we leave now, we could always bomb them if they get out of hand if we need to. We have enough infrastructure there to keep an eye on things.
The miscreants who started the (Iraq war) lost it when they started it. But they have no plan for success and never did. Fantasy delusions ruled their thinking. Nuclear proliferation in Iraq!!!! Flowers and candy. Sprouting democracy from intense gratitude of our invasion of their soveriegn (sp) country. Mission Accomplished. Those jerks really thought it was over. Selling 9/11 as a battle cry to keep on message. Instead of looking after Americans interests they chose to scare Americans into keeping themselves in power. It worked, but at what cost? They don't care. They got theirs. Plus the fantasy thinking keeps them above the fray. I don't know what kind of bubble They have to live in to think they've done the right thing, even with all of the evidence to the contrary. Well the Iraq war didn't work so maybe we need to invade Iran to balance the books and make everything better. Dick Cheney's life would be complete. Well, maybe not. I think he would want to bomb N. Korea just for good measure. Then he could check out knowing his work in the world is done.
Anyone with an IQ could have seen the cluster f that was about to happen if they only read a few newspapers here and abroad. And was marginally familiar with history. That did rule out the current administration, though.
I was against the war for these reasons before we went. I knew GB would screw it up, but even more importantly we didn't belong there. Not like this and not for the reasons we were told we were going. I knew it was fabrication but I knew the sheeple would follow. Including the cowards in congress who authorized this action instead of voting their conscience assuming they have one.
I love all the convenient selling of "we didn't authorize war against Iraq, just the power to use it if we needed to" nonsense we are hearing from the democrats.
We had a real opportunity to change the world for the better by doing the job in Afghanistan first before attempting some sort of vendetta against a non 9/11 participant.
But in the end I know I'm doing my part. I went shopping just like the President asked me to.
