No, you don't have to have an interest in the stock to moderate the board.

Well......generally the moderator is the person that started the board. If that person started the board it was probably because they had an interest in it.

I don't own stock in any of the boards I assist or moderate. It isn't a requirement, just happens cuz interested folks start boards.
