I think it might have more to do with SGI selling their Alias software division, which represents a change in direction for the company. Sometimes investors sell on the news.

My question is: what on Earth makes you think the stock direction has anything at all to do with Intel's 64-bit announcement. Do you see any press releases even mentioning it?
