If the industry was smart, they could design layered solar cell that could harvest from 2.5 micron down to .2 microns, right now only the .4 to 1 micron range is harvested, the short part of the spectrum is on the down side of the Bolzano Weirstrass spectral distribution and you do not lose much by not collecting that part.
