Might be an interesting calculation to make, how long will it take for oxygen in the atmosphere to drop to 19% from the current 20% if we imported hydrogen from Jupiter (I almost wrote Juniper, <g>). My point is that hydrogen is an energy storage medium, and fuel cells are energy conversion devices converting the (chemical) energy stored in hydrogen to electricity, then why not store electricity directly in advanced batteries, or better yet, SMES? To store hydrogen safely, you should not even consider the liquified form, you should either consider various hydrides (reversible one), or reform it on board from methanol or gasoline, in the latter case, you'll emit CO2 anyhow. Since the engine is one or more electrical motors, why not sore electricity as electricity?
