I think the shorting is measured and not all the time. If they short and hit the bid yes the price decreases... but when the ask is hit unless shorty has shares sitting there to absorb the buy then the price should go up. Because then the ask is very thin. If we got news now I don't think anyone could keep the price down. IMHO.
