Matt. When you restore a post do you notify the moderator?
If not we need to know. Some posters will repost what was deleted. And we have no way of knowing if not being notified.

Matt, somewhat related topic...

Can a Board Moderator arbitrarily remove an assistant (without notifying them) and appoint a new one? Do you review those cases? When this happens, it creates a stale mood on the thread bringing on a sense of censorship and fascism (well not that bad, but you get the point)

This seems to answer my first question -- a moderator or assistant CAN remove a post directly without any intervention by you. Correct?

If you do nothing, does it stay deleted, or does it pop back up automatically? Maybe if you're tinkering with the system, you should have a practice where if YOU don't confirm the delete within, say, 24 hours, the post returns to the thread. Of course, many people who regularly follow the thread will miss it since they will have read past that point before 24 hours are up.

It's not a perfect world, is it?

So Bob, to prevent anybody from incurring any physical bodily damage, we need to a way to "lock" a message once it has been restored by me. I'd put this pretty high up on the list for when we get the next round of RB folks in here.

You might also consider adding a field to indicate who did the deleting. Wouldn't that help immensely?

Good luck,

WillP

I agree. Have your girl tell my girl to add it to my list.
