When I became a grain merchandiser in 1979 I traded a single oat contract to learn how to speculate. After 5 years I was out $ 4000. In 1983 I made 20,000 in the Sep-Nov Bean spread and kept the education and the money. I use to trade bellies but they always wanted their money back. So I quit.
