Iran had good reason to hate us in 1979. I'm not condoning what the students did, but there was provokation. Sometimes people push back... Like I said before, Iranians came to our school to speak in 1979. I will never forget the visceral distain for US culture, but I was also shocked to hear that Pavlovi was not the "helluva nice guy" that was portrayed in US media. There are still Iranian professors at the school, educated people with the means to escape the Shah's brutality. We did a rotten thing to those people via our puppet dictator.
