Telmex has 18 million accounts it is servicing. Actualy closer to 19 million. At this very moment there are none using Iris (telmex has not launched it yet). As for whether or not payment is obligatory, well it is if they want to continue having phone service.
Iris will be offered to all of telmex's clients (and new ones). When it launches. Plug in your guesstimate for their penetration and run the calculations.
Last I checked (and its been a couple weeks) the O/S was alittle over 710 million.
The A/S is 1.3 billion. This is what I used for my calculations. I just went with the worst case scenario that is currently possible. I figured why hypothesize over what has to be cashed in and converted etc and just go with the worst case scenario. Otherwise all the naysayers would bring that up and try and make things continue to look bad.
