Right, blim. I think just about everyone (including me [I?]) hopped aboard Rachel Carson's bandwagon after reading (or reading about) "Silent Spring." [BTW I was past the pharmaceutical enhancement age before the fad started; the greater misfortune is that I was married with three kids before what I was told was called the Sexual Revolution. I would have settled for a just a riot or two, even a bit of urban unrest. ;-)
As to Sally Field, the sweet little Flying Nun put herself on my list quite recently when--as I read--she received some sort of award and started a left-wing rant to the extent they had to giver her the electronic hook in post-production. If I could remember all my boycotts I would probably just sit at home and starve. Miller Beer just made the list when I learned of their financial aid to the illegal immigrant "cause.
