This a REAL from the darkside post opinion only!!
The OTC has 2 order books. Unlike exchange stocks.
Your order goes to your broker, your broker can close it, hold it, or send it to the electronic exchange to close.
This double book allows brokers, which are also dealers (M&Ms) to manipulate the stock movement. And lets them watch orders line up on their desk, signal want the retail wants, with small order closes in the open market and when a consensus is reached, with all the M&Ms signaling, close your order ahead of releasing their orders, into the open market.
Basically they know retail is loading up the ask @ .01, they close your asks from their inventory and send .012 asks to the open market. Retail buys their .01 buys for .012. And the stock moves up.
Same thing for going down. You can really see this when orders just seem to stop closing all of a sudden. They are letting the orders pile up on their desk, to see which way to move the stock for the next round of volume & small buy ahead profits.
M&Ms use several techniques to manipulate & increase gains & volume fees. They buy or sell ahead, swap block orders to create emotion, stall trades from closing, to determine which way to move the price for max volume and increase bid/ask price spreads large, to force retail to stop buying or selling, to stop or start price turns. They just sit with the bid/ask large until retail gives up and changes their order the way they want.
If this doesn't happen, they will close a few blocks in the direction they want it to go and retail changes their minds.
(They help retail to decide it's going the other way, because the price gap is large and selling comes when a run was going or the other way around to start a run, not stop one.)
I know I know this is too much! Just to corrupt, to illegal. No way it could happen, they would get caught!!
Just an opinion. But start watching the tic by tic. You'll see things like this actally happen. Stalls, bid/ask spreads with block orders before a turn, trades above or below the bid/ask.
