I did a little digging around
"in the neighborhood," and my feelings are the same about the Digeplayer, early.

IMO, it is not a solution for IFE in coach. It is a premium item, a giveaway in First Class, but no solution for adding value to the low fare traveler, nor does it provide general FREE IFE to the coach passenger.

Since a box holding ten of them fill a good part of one overhead storage compartment in coach, the ability to carry any significant number on board is limited. I believe there are forty or so on each of the transcontinental flights leaving and returning to Seattle. Finally, it seems the continuing obstacle for APS "designers" is where to put it when people are eating. AlaskaAir is serving hot meals as opposed to finger food on these non-stop cross country flights ala 1980's, and there is no room to spare on the tray table.
