Excuse me...Petraeus was sent to the Hill to sell The Decider's war in Iraq - if he doesn't know if it will make America safer, why the HELL are we there? Why the HELL are we spilling the blood of our brave sons/daughters?
"When he has been asked questions outside the scope of his military effort against the insurgents, he has always referred the questioner to Crocker...". Well he didn't do that this time - he clearly said, "I don't know actually. I have not sat down and sorted it in my own mind". I wonder what the troops in Iraq will think when they hear that their commander told the world he doesn't know if putting them in harm's way in Iraq will make America safer - many say that's why they signed up!
Neither Petraeus nor Crocker appeared to believe what they were sent to the Hill to sell.
