I know nothing of the company and haven't listned to the webcast, but I do have first hand experience creating fusion proteins with extended half-lives using CTP and other carbohydrate-enhancing moieties. it works, but i would have several concerns:
1. half-life is extended by 2-3 fold, and adding multiple CTPs probably doesn't have additional benefit on pK, so the dosing advantage achieved is modest at best
2. there are other ways of adding carbohydrates to circumvent any IP issues (case in point - aranesp). CTP is also a cluster containing 4 o-linked moieties, and it seems to me the ability to add singlets of N-linked sugars using well defined primary amino acid signal sequences is at least equivalent or if anything a more powerful technique to enhance glycosylation and modify pk
3. FSH-CTP is in phase 3 trials now..i have my doubts it will be a success based on what i have seen/heard to date. that alone would taint any future CTP offerings in the pipeline
