doug, it doesn't matter if what they put out is crap. If they can convince the world (and they have been doing this for some time) that they can deliver quantity and that crap tastes good then people will buy. They will keep Dell in the fold. Who knows, the spec around HP may well be for Intel as they weren't specific in their response.
Bottom line is, like P&G, all you need to be successful is a fistful of advertising dollars and are marketing department on steroids. Do you know what the difference between Cheer, Tide and any of the other P&G laundry detergents is? There isn't any.
I own a boat load of AMD stock. It has made a ton of money for me. However, I am now seriously considering significantly paring back my exposure. Not just because of this news, but also because of the weakness in techs and the fact that I don't see a catalyst that will move the stock higher in the near term. Probably will wait to sell the news on the Sun intro.
