Lucentis is smaller: about one-third the size of Avastin.

Gram for gram, Lucentis is cheaper to produce than Avastin because it is made using E. coli.

If DNA did that, then they would be legally liable for any problems. The FDA might also question why DNA wanted to make a dose suitable only for an off-label use!

Based on early studies conducted,
Avastin is too large to fully penetrate the retina. (pre-clincial), but Lucentis is not
