In copying the code over did you make any changes? Running a different version of software on the new server? there has to have been something that changed?
You've nailed the most troubling aspect of it. We did an item by item comparison of the IIS and OS setup between the two machines and found them to be identical. The ASP was simply copied over with no changes.
We can't do the comparisons now because the old webserver is now our ad-server.
Of course, that leaves the troubling question of "If everything is the same except that the machine it's running on is much more powerful (and has twice the memory), why the problems?"
The only thing that's really changed is that the volume of traffic that made the old webserver too underpowered to keep up is still climbing.
