My take on these two is that I've heard numerous complaints about E-Trade, but, not too many serious ones.
(With all due respect for your "leetle stock", of course.)

I've had Ameritrade for a long time with no problems, but, recently, two serious down times.

My hold continues, & continues, & continues,...& con (well, you know)...
