You just get out....at least if you think that they continue down. You have to weigh if the EOD ramp could get them above current prices or not, if we get an EOD ramp. Sometimes, as long as the box is not violated you double up and sell the whole position in the mid point of the two positions thus "extricating yourself" even. The goal, however is to make money on each and every trade rather than extricate yourself....

Best lesson I ever learned is it to cut your loses @ 8%.


I still hold PEGA in my portfolio as a reminder to never make a bad trade into a nightmare.

coach2: How to extricate from a losing trade? Exit the trade, take the loss...though it really depends on your trading "style."
