No doubt technology has advanced since the 60ies, 70ies and 80ies. And although I am not a geological expert, its pretty obvious that glaciers either retreat or advance. I think the only reason we are living in the industrial age is because of glacier retreat. But I don't think they normally melt as quickly as they are melting now. Aerial photos are aerial photos regardless of when they were takin. Photos of glaciers from the 70ies compared to photos of the same glaciers today show extreme retreat and as far as I know, science has proven that this does not happen this quick natually.

I don't see what the problem is about acting on the current behavior believed to be the culprit behind warming. If we successfully acted and it turned out there is no warming, then we have a cleaner planet and a strong economy due to the infrastructure changing our habits created. If we turn a blind eye to this and global warming turns out to be real. Isn't it to late to do something about it by the time we find out that global warming is real?
