Yep. We need to keep cutting down trees and putting in parking lots. Humans don't do that part, do they? If I'm not misled, trees take one breath a day. They breathe in CO2 during the day, and exhale O2 by night. That sounds important for the balance. To say nothing about how much rain trees attract.
About 16 years ago there was a good documentary titled Conversations with Elder Brother, on PBS. Shamans in South America reported their discoveries to a group who went down there to travel up and down the mountain with them. Water was disappearing, because the glaciers were disappearing.
