It's also in IBM's interests to weaken any rivals to its hegemony and return itself to its pre-PC numero uno status . Only in this case there will be an awful lot of pleasure mixed in with the business :-). As regards AMD, they have not acted in revenge but done whatever was necessary to survive in Intel's large shadow. In fact they have managed to do what even IBM couldn't do ... survive over the decades in the PC processor business :-).
