Is it fair the baseball player make millions and not a brain surgeon?
It has nothing to do with what the worker is willing to work for to get paid it has everything to with what will the employer pay. During depressions workers will accept much less because they want to eat. During high unemployment workers will be willing to accept much less.
The highest paid workers in our town are police who work 40 - 50 hours overtime. They make more than the school superintendent? Is that fair?
When we didn't have unions their were much lower wages for everyone and much worse working conditions for everyone. Child labor laws came into existence because of unions as well as many benefits you enjoy today because of unions. Employers did not give those benefits out of the goodness of their heart.
You keep avoiding the question of worker productivity and stagnant salaries since the 70's.
There is a reason that manufacturing jobs are leaving and it has to do with employers NOT wanting to pay for health insurance, workers comp, unemployment insurance, social security, follow OSHA laws, and we even give those employers tax breaks to take the jobs out of the country. If you don't understand capitalism I can't help you.
