Broadcom is not that strong in the consumer space as Marvell. Marvell's solution is much stronger. Funny how they talked about Broadcom having wifi in the Wii while Marvell was suffering for supporting Ps3. Funny how Wii has virtually has no online multiplayer games that really test the power of the wifi. While Marvell does Wifi for not only Ps3 but Xbox360 and the killer app is multiplayer gaming!! Funny how the fellow missed that.
While Broadcom won the socket for the Wii it did not win the socket for the Nintendo DS, which outsells the Wii, and was won by Atheros. Says to me that Broadcom is not that strong in small form factor mobile wifi as it is in the laptop and desktop space.
You also can't underestimate it's design win in the iPhone. Let's see you got Marvell in the highest of tech toys like Xbox360, Ps3, Psp, iPhone, and Blackberry devices, and this guy picks Broadcom? That's a laugher.
