Hey Neuro,
I didn't make the asinine remark about letters to your Congressman. That was uncalled for and you know it.
And, as you have already surmised, my nerves are a little frayed.
But overall, my disappointment and recent frustration with this board has been the way that gfp has been treated by others and you for raising considerations that I consider quite legitimate. There seems to be an underlying tone of intolerance here and you seem to be part of it.
Remember when we were on the NEOT board and some guy was cautioning us against the "death-spiral convertibles" that Glasky was using to raise money. Alot of folks trashed him mightily, but he turned out to be right. (I'm sorry, it's been a long time and I don't remember all the details, but you get the picture.)
When some people thought it was fishy that the FDA would schedule an ODAC panel for Satraplatin for what seemed like a slam-dunk approval that had an SPA and had met its primary endpoints with flying colors, people on the YMB had all the rationaliations that come with being a self-deluded long. No one, and I mean not one single person, ever suggested that maybe the SPA wasn't what it was cracked up to be. And I won't even get into what went on at the various DNDN boards while the Provenge thing was being played out. Hey, I got roundly trashed on Dew's I-hub board, generally a modicum of civility, for suggesting that the 13-4 panel vote was not really a 13-4 vote for approval of the drug. I had the temerity to suggest that the FDA was likely to overrule the panel. Even after the fact and after I was proven correct, people still jump on me for what I said. (DNDN boards/discussions are not the places to find rationality and/or civility.)
Recently on this board, I find there is alot more cheerleading and alot less rational discussion. It's beginning to look more like a YMB everyday. I think that's not a positive circumstance.
