Actually I doubt anyone in this country really takes the legal system seriously any longer.. Its just 'accepted' now because honestly there is little if anything we can do to change it...
Essentially the wealthy walk.. yet if you look at the nations drug laws its interesting how draconian and heartless they are and yet the majority of offenders are poverty level adicts who really just need help, not incarcaration. Jesse Jackson actually had a fantastic arguement when comparing the penalties of a crack offender as opposed to a cocaine offender.. Simply because cocaine is a wealthy, white mans drug.. No way they could impose those minimum mandatories on a wealthy white man : )
In fact Im glad Quattrone never had to do any jail time.. Why should I spend money for him to take a 3 year vacation in a luxury prison that most Americans can only dream about living in??
