NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Though a federal court jury failed to convict Frank Quattrone of obstruction of justice, the NASD has suspended the former star investment banker for failing to testify in its investigation of him. A National Association of Securities Dealers hearing panel found that Quattrone never provided it with testimony it requested last year, violating the NASD's rules. Quattrone was fined $30,000 and suspended for one year. "If Quattrone does not fully and unconditionally provide information within one year, he will be permanently barred from the securities industry," the NASD said in a press release.
