ZZZ - In my opinion, the central issue here is not about hitting the buy button to invest in a pink; many do that day in and day out without significantly negative financial consequence. Rather, it is about the exponentially increased risk and consequences of being enticed by false and puffed claims to buy into a pump and dump scheme which eventually reveals itself through numerous repeated failures to deliver on its grandiose and false public claims, then is caught up in a conundrum of regulatory investigations and civil lawsuits due to its own errant (the nicest word I can apply here) behavior.
