excess exposure to radioactivity and the release of radioactivity into the waste system is always a big deal. I-131 is volatile and readily absorbed from the air into the body. Patients receiving bexxar are supposed to be hospitalized for several days following treatment to minimize exposure to others. Maybe you don't think it's a big deal, but my guess is that most people when given a choice would chose a non-radioactive alternative.
