I can tell you from experience, and based on the reputations and quality of the particular firms, that the retainers alone for the first two firms which were hired (the Bay Street firm in Toronto and the Chicago law firm) were most likely in the six figure range.
IT would be if they were using good lawyers. But they have a local lawyer who does speeding tickets and divorces. Fraser, Milner and Casgrin were probably to expensive and unneeded as they have no expectation of a favourable outcome.
