i remember when opening a new account recently that there is a box to un/check if you want the companies whose shares you buy to get your address. i think it was checked yes by default but i turned it off.
if you elect to not have paper confirmations and statements sent to you, (and instead have email confirmations) then I dont think you will receive the company statements in the mail. The first company statement I have ever received, was just recently for MERH, and I think that's because of zecco, which doesn't allow electronic confirmations.
