I don't want to rip on your semantics too much but I think you have 2 errors in your post. 1 Minor, one that was just probably misspoken but confused me until I assumed you misspoke.

1)Carlos Slim is still the second richest man according to my info (The minor one) (Edit) I just read this morning that your correct. He did pass up Gates (According to one source, a mexican one) So at least the top money bags is in question anyways. I had not read that until a few minutes ago.(/Edit)

2) Branding then going national. Why wouldn't they want to brand Nationaly? Why only brand locally then go national?

We don't have hard evidence yet that branding is going on Nationally but I find it hard to believe they would only do so locally. Unless the branding is strictly for Telnor and Telmex is going to do something completely different with it from a marketing standpoint.
